Here is T's birthday cake. I was happy to make it for him. It didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but not too bad!

Purple Monster
I was asking C what he wanted for his birthday (meaning toys). He asked for a cake. I questioned him to find out what kind of cake he wanted. A Power Ranger? A Car? No, he wanted a purple cake. How can I make a purple boy type cake. I finally talked him into a monster. He loved it. He also ate all of the cake, something that doesn't always happen. I think he turned out kind of cute!
It was especially fun having C show me how to make the teeth!

Frosty the Cake Man
Here is the latest attempt. I love snowmen and copied this design from Pinterest. I took his picture and in the photos noticed that his mouth had met with some kind of accident. No one would ever admit to it. My shells are getting better and I love his tassel. He is a chocolate cake with an almond mousse filling.
On My Bucket List
I have so many things that I want to learn in this life. I have music to write, play and sing. I have instruments to learn. I have many talents I want to unleash. One of them is learning to decorate cakes. I started my journey at least 40 years ago at the elbow of my neighbor Lena Goble. She was amazing. She taught me many things, but all my cakes still looked like I had decorated them. I finally got the right idea and took a cake class at our local craft store. I look forward to taking the rest of the classes. This blog is dedicated to my practice and hopefully perfection in some of these techniques. I feel there is some sort of artist within me begging to be released. I am trying this. As I look at the cakes I can still how I still am, but hopefully with time I will see progression. Here are some of my attempts so far.
